Congrats to the PCH volunteers’ team who helped at the Glen Cove Animal Rescue on Monday! They were welcomed by the facility with open arms and were able to contribute to the restoration of the grounds and animal “hang-out” areas. It was an exciting day, a lot was accomplished, and the rescue organization and animals appreciated all the hard work and attention!
Helping to Make the School Year a Positive Experience for Long Island’s Children! Earlier this week, PCHers gathered in the Jericho and Melville Cafés to fill 250 backpacks (25% more than last year!) with school supplies that were then donated to facilities in the Long Island area as part of an initiative organized by Long Island Cares and Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. Great job, Everyone!
Just Another Workday… Along the beautiful coastline of Gantry Park on a sunny summer day getting to know co-workers from different departments overlooking Manhattan’s amazing skyline! Talk about a good day at work!!! After an afternoon of PCHers cleaning up washed up debris and tending the amazing gardens, Rob Basch provided a tour of the park with behind-the-scenes commentary on the history as well as long-term plan for the area. Take a peek at the location – it’s definitely worth a visit. Many thanks to all that attended – you rock!
PCH was at AdMonsters’ Conference! Our very own Chris Moore, Director, Business Development, PCH/Media, participated in a panel of programmatic professionals yesterday at AdMonsters’ 2019 Ops Conference in NYC. The panel discussed their experiences with header bidding and overall programmatic advertising trends. Great job, Chris!
PCH's Earth Day #TrashTag Event last week was a great success! The weather finally cooperated long enough for our volunteers to do a litter clean up at the Tackapausha Museum and Preserve. There was an amazing turnout that eagerly stomped through the 84-acre sanctuary to pick up debris and make the earth a prettier place! The staff at the preserve was elated with our effort and so appreciative of the hard work that went into collecting approximately 25 trash bags of rubbish. While we couldn’t get one full day rain-free, when the skies opened up we took the opportunity to head indoors to the museum for a quick tour. Another highlight to the day as we were introduced to an assortment of rescue animals. The museum and preserve are hidden gems and just around the corner in Seaford: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMdSt
Thanks to the generosity of participating PCHers, we collected 308 pounds of non-perishable food items for the food drive sponsored by Island Harvest and the Postal Letter Carriers that will be distributed to those in need on Long Island! Thank you to all who helped make this drive a success!
Thanks to participating PCHers, 2 pallets (approximately 2 dozen boxes) of books were collected for The Book Fairies Book Drive this year! These donations will go directly to high poverty schools and community outreach programs across metropolitan New York directly impacting literacy rates in our neighborhoods. Thank you to all who helped make this drive a success!
PCH Receives Award from NY Blood Center! PCH was honored with an award for 2018’s total blood donations….203 total pints! That’s an amazing contribution that will go a long way in helping people. Many, many thanks to all our blood donors! We greatly appreciate the time spent to donate, and most especially your compassion to help others.
Last Thursday was a great day! A group of 20 PCH team members spent the day at The Inn’s Mary Brennan Soup Kitchen last week, and our volunteers accomplished A LOT! The volunteers handed out hundreds of pieces of bedding to the guests and helped to sort out and take inventory of all the pieces which PCH donated. A BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers!
HQ was buzzing in anticipation yesterday as PCHers waited for the arrival of the newest “Forever” prize winner and her family! On February 26th, Crystal Crawford won $5,000 A Week for her life (PLUS she gets to pick a beneficiary to receive $5,000 A Week for their life, too!) and yesterday she was able to visit HQ to get a behind-the-scenes look at PCH and the home of the Prize Patrol. During her visit, she was able to pay it forward and pass along some of her good luck by randomly picking 9 employees to be the recipients of a cash prize from the Prize Patrol! Crystal was ecstatic to be part of the awarding side this time around.
