For over 40 years, we have stuck to the same guiding principle: great quality should come with everyday low prices.

In 1961, the Albrecht Family founded the world’s first discount grocery store in Germany. 16 years later in 1976, we opened our first ALDI store in Iowa. Today, with our ALDI headquarters in Batavia, Illinois, we have grown to more than 2,500 stores with 50,000 employees. By 2028, we’re adding 800 more stores—bringing great products at the lowest possible prices to even more communities.
